On the occasion of @arrow.apache.org adopting an official logo (see github.com/apache/arrow...), we’ll note that it, and @columnar.tech’s dbc, have been very helpful in rebuilding the notebook data connectors. Better development experience for us, more performant for you. Thank you! 🙏

This release is cool for a lot of reasons but my favorite is that the new Observable does database access with ADBC and returns results as Arrow. And, as a bonus, it uses @columnar.tech 's dbc (dbc.how) to install drivers.

Pulling a big result set from Snowflake into Tableau isn't network-bound. It's CPU-bound — burning cycles converting columns to rows and straight back to columns. @ian.columnar.tech of Columnar on ADBC, and the 10-100x you get by deleting that step. link below
