And what shines through these essays is the commitment to history as hope for a better world, as well as historical practice as also about friendship, shared intellectual endeavour and solidarity.

But it goes without saying that it is exactly the kind of scholarship that Hall is doing & has inspired us to do that we need right now. The essays in this book map her intervention as part of the wider field of critical colonial studies.
