Exactly, yes. I’m really hoping he’ll get his own arc first, before he and Galadriel meet again, and that they’ll take the chance to show a version of this character that foregrounds how he and Gal fit together. Cause I have a really hard time imagining her marrying someone boring 😂

If they give Celeborn the same amount of story and attention that they've given the other characters like Durin, Elrond, Gandalf, etc, he's going to be great. They've done a wonderful job with the crew so far, so I'm really looking forward to see what they do with him.

Yeah, but I feel like lots and lots more people care that Sauron is sometimes hot since TRoP & that the fans who are most vocal in all this don’t necessarily get their arguments from the Silm. But tbf I wouldn’t know if there was a significant Sauron fandom before TRoP that also shipped Haladriel.

My pet peeve is ppl calling him boring in comparison to Sauron because … Was Sauron hot and interesting before TRoP made him so? And have we met TRoP Celeborn? But also, 100% agree on PJ vs book versions. And granted, you have to do a close reading to get a lot from the book. But it’s there.

People who claim "Celeborn is boring"/"even Tolkien couldn't bother to make him interesting" usually fall into two camps. One doesn't wanna see him cause they prefer Galadriel with someone else. And the other - what they actually mean to say is "Peter Jackson didn't bother to make him interesting."
