It was something I added into Avatar Toolkit (Which was meant to replace Cats) but seeing as ATK is dead thought it was best to add it. A few of the features in ATK are going to end up in Cats tbh.

That is fair, VRChat is not everyone's cup of tea and even I don't appreciate it as much as I used too (10+ years on the game.... Had a bit of a love/ hate relationship with VRC) However i still use Cats myself for VRC stuff but also for other things so I most likely will continue it as well.

actually this is already in the game if you look at moss/lichen on trees in the game, they tend to favor spawning on the northern side of trees
