I've been thinking a lot about how we can improve freshwater biodiversity monitoring 📊🔍 This new paper may have the answers. DNA megabarcoding, combined with automated imaging & machine learning (CNNs) can provide accurate IDs, abundance, AND biomass for aquatic insects 🐛🧬
