Adonis Blues, electric blue and lots of them, flying over Compton Down, Dorset. (1 and 2) Only males are blue, females are chocolate brown. We saw our first Marbled Whites of the year - this one showing with a Five-spot Burnet (3). Small Blues (4) also numerous but less obvious than the Adonis.

Very rare and very tiny, Small Hare's-ear. Only found on the UK mainland near Brixham and on Beachy Head. So small and low-growing that you may need a magnifying glass. Found on the thinnest of limestone soils.

A single Norfolk Hawker was flying yesterday over the dipping platorm at Slapton Ley NNR. They now seem to be firmly established at Slapton. It was blowing over 30mph and the Hawker was elusive so I have used photos from '23 and '24.
