tbh i still don’t totally get how this works for these guys wrt media where there’s no male self-insert character and it’s just about girls having relationships with each other. but i guess i can’t complain too much if we get good yuri out of it? lmao

i think this is hard for people in the west to wrap their heads around because the prevailing logic among media producers here has long been that a story about men/boys is suitable entertainment for everyone while a story about women/girls is just for girls and would be actively alienating to guys
