I pressure washed it first with the rotating brush. Used a 1:4 ratio to dilute the chemical but the black spots were so ingrained that I had to use it neat in places and I'm not convinced I haven't marked the stone - plus it's still there in patches! Will try 1:1 mix next time. PPE is essential!
Show PostYesterday I treated my parents' patio with sodium hypochlorite to get rid of the black spots and it took so long that it was dark when I finished. My dad just called to tell me how pleased he is. We've had a difficult relationship and didn't speak for 8yrs. His surprising call means the world to me

Holy shit! Did anyone else just get the Armageddon fire risk government emergency warning on their phone? Don't like the noise. Don't like! No idea what the rest of the message said because the noise was too 'nuclear warning' terrifying.
