I get it though because labels like "introvert" "depression"or "social anxiety" don't feel meaningful because they don't explain the depths of our issues. as a kid those things were treated like pesky little mind viruses that could be cured with meditation and hard work

I definitely relate to the concept of masking. I run around and I do weird stuff with my body when I'm nervous or excited but I used to try and hide it. I still try very hard to hide it in public
