Quite. Much of Europe's refugee crisis and the consequent social dislocation was caused by the so-called War on Terror; a cynic might say this side-effect was was a foreseeable and desired by-product.

It WAS the important takeaway from that event. I mean, you're in the minority here. People remember 9/11 largely as the Bush admins Reichstag fire: An excuse for a group of racist, murderous right-wingers to take our rights and slaughter Arabs in the Middle East to steal their wealth.
