There is some confusion, I think, about the fact that both conservatives and liberals say they oppose sexual abuse; what liberals mean is that parents shouldn't be allowed to rape their children, what conservatives mean is that parents should be allowed to kill their children if they're gay.

The defining feature of this war thus far is that the US and our allies have basically zero appetite for sacrifice or casualties or friction or attrition because, (and I cannot emphasize this enough), this was not a war that anybody actually believed we needed to fight.
