@tomasbzdusek.bsky.socialWhen is a multifold band degeneracy robust? Exactly when the lower-order nodal manifolds around it are linked, like loops of a chain — some pairing the upper bands, some the lower. We tie it to Chern, winding & Stiefel-Whitney invariants in all 10 symmetry classes. arxiv.org/abs/2607.13016
Show PostOur contribution to non-Hermitian lattices and their sensitivity to boundary conditions. arxiv.org/abs/2608.14508 Using resolvent analysis, we discuss Green's and spectral functions, and time evolution. Kudos to Mykhailo for his brilliant work & thanks to Askar and Emil for the collaboration!
Show PostWanda currently pursues a PhD at the University of Zurich in mathematics, in collaboration with a biology group, on modelling animal networks. Wanda, we wish you a stellar academic journey!
Show PostCongratulations to our former MSc student and later intern, Wanda Duss, on successfully transferring her thesis results into a manuscript in Physical Review Research! 🥳 doi.org/10.1103/t8gg... Her work studies a mapping between topological and flat-band states on decorated trees vs in 1D chains.
Show PostYay, we have a new Nature Comms publication in the group! doi.org/10.1038/s414... We show how one can use a construction dubbed Cayley-Schreier lattice to simulate non-Abelian gauge fields via solely real hopping amplitudes. We combine these with topological band theory and study concrete models.
