It's worse when they not only do this, but somewhat diagonally so there's no question why they did it. Not that maybe someone else was in a spot next to them when they arrived who they themselves were too far over/parked like an asshole.

Whenever I come across a task so crushingly, mind-numbingly boring and plagued by minutiae mines I think, "Oh wait, maybe AI could help me not wanna die doing this" and I dunno how you sell that en masse? Maybe replace me with a wet Kardashian? Two?

Because "make chart pretty, get applauded" is quicker and easier to portray in a video that anyone can understand and is more widely applicable, even if it's very stupid (there's already colour themes in every Microsoft software you can select to make it pretty).

Exactly, it’s so hard to sell in a public fashion but they’re trapped. “Do you have rote pattern-matching jobs at work that suck and are liable for fat-fingering? Boy do we have the product for you” doesn’t leap off the page “Do you suck at the parts of your job that require a soul? Try our copier”
