One of many pts in an interesting thread. I think the opposite might happen -- you will *only* have access to top models *outside* the US. They will soon block foreign models in the US on nat'l sec grounds (but also to help Anthropic and OAI). If they are blocking Fable, why should you get Zhipu?

Data residency adds real cost, but the bigger unlock is treating custom models as owned infrastructure instead of rented capability.
