The USA has been continuously warmongering since 1945, long enough for it to be dependent on its Military Industrial Complex, Australia has always been an enthusiastic lap-dog assistant, we are now just another US military base and cannot make independent decisions.

Here is a scenario. 1. USA China conflict starts 2. China retaliates but does not want to attack USA directly 3. China attacks USA allies and USA bases in allies 4. China and USA reach compromise Result: Australia is bombed and Australians killed. That is where our political duopoly is taking us

Trump didn't defend any of those Gulf countries that allowed the US to put bases on their soil. The bases were the first targets hit as soon as war broke out. No protection whatsoever. A lesson should be learnt.
