Heading off this morning to a six hour exam ordeal (four hours and a two hour lunch break) testing my FRENCH- first step on the path to citizenship. Please cross your fingers I don’t get so weirded out by replaying my A levels that I forget how to conjugate!

Read! It's the hardest thing to do. Academic skimming and mining of texts misses the unique connection between reader & writer that only real reading offers. Find special books you admire. Read them in hard copy. In the order they were written. No distractions from logging in or ads. Helps writing.
