I mean, I think everyone should try it once just to see if it's something they like. I don't think it has anything to do with building empathy for the DM. I think most players get what goes into it, and can appreciate the difference between a nimble DM, and one that railroads.

I'm lucky that my players understand the work i do and buy most of the plot hooks I give them, but many of them either come naturally from the story or I just ask them what they want to do and I prepare for that. But within the adventure they go about it however they want, for bad or for worse 😂

I don't believe any person should play outside Thier comfort zone, so I'll say "no". I *never* want to be a player and I'm sure I would resent the experience, which would destroy any lesson. That said, if someone wants to be on that side of the screen, I am down to help a comrade out.

I don’t have any technical know-how on how to 3D sculpt so I can’t take the credit as they’re aren’t mine, I just buy the miniatures because they are amazing. All the credit goes to their representing studios Bite the Bullet Studios and Artisans Guild.
