I think it's also an angle for why I don't like slob- that it feels like it's eating removed from romanticism, the wrong kind of self-debasement? Gore dripping from a messy chin has a thanatos-urge eroticism that gravy and crumbs don't. Slob doesn't seem "powerful", just corrupted?
