Penguicon 2006. Instead of saying the words "space battles" we used the words "tea parties." It was ridiculous we had to do it, and after two minutes everyone followed the discussion perfectly. This was before the phrase "tea party" was hijacked by proto-MAGA in the US.

Show PostThe local nature preserve has a stand of maple trees and the rangers there are tapping the trees and making maple syrup. Krissy, who walked Charlie there this morning, got a little bottle of the stuff, just as they were done with a new batch. It is shockingly flavorful.
