Another thing: most (not all) people don't vote on "policy," which in any event actually means "positions." Most voters have rejected GOP policy for years but many of those people still vote Republican. It's a mix of party loyalty and vibes.

Even if she had explicitly invited him over first, she said no several times, including in text. It doesn’t materially change the story; it doesn’t make what occurred consensual. Anyone looking to make wiggle room on that front with this is not safe.

Again: People do change. Redemption and evolution are possible. But it's a long process that leaves a trail of evidence of evolving positions and actions taken to make amends. No such trail exists for Platner, just declarations made when he started to seek office.

That's a good question, esp. when the "But he's changed!" excuses started moving from his behavior 15 years ago to his behavior 15 minutes ago. :) (Metaphorically, but it's clear he was doing Very Bad Things as recently as the early 2020s, and I suspect more since then.)
