As a disabled domestic abuse survivor, I believe this is such a vital message to get across - especially as our MPs are poised to vote on disability benefits. I've said many times that had I not been on benefits, or had they been lower, it would have been impossible for me to leave my abuser.

Bystander intervention is crucial here - we can prevent any such social norm taking hold. Local to me, @raiseyourvoiceni.bsky.social do great bystander intervention training, but it's worth looking into wherever you are for a whole lot of reasons. You don't have to be a hero to make a difference.
