Some psychologists (like some medical doctors) don't stay up-to-date with the changes in their field. It's hard to get the accommodations you need when they don't. The best thing is to find community, especially if there is an autistic/adhd organization in your area. Check out Autism Ontario.

How neurodivergent someone is should never be measured in terms of mild and severe. It's not linear, but a spectrum. Everyone has different struggles, and some need more accommodations than others, but the struggle is real and valid.

I have had one very close friend for 44 years. She is neurotypical. So is my husband of 23 years. It used to bother me that I didn't fit in anywhere. Reading posts here makes me feel like I have people. #ADHD
