I'll be interested in others' thoughts, but I think the design trend of oversized center screens in new cars is getting into silly territory. I'm hoping we return to more sensible sized screens. No one needs that much screen space — in fact, it becomes a visual safety issue (distraction). #ev #cars

I have great respect for agnostics and atheists. My dad was a thoughtful and devout agnostic. Their rights are fundamental to my rights. But I have never understood this childish urge to piss on any reference to church you encounter, like a dog with a telephone pole.

I think some people reject diagnosis of memory leaks purely because that’s the promise of Garbage Collection. If GC fails then odds are that there is a memory leak. But we can’t really solve that directly with Java and so it feels better to say that the “GC isn’t working well”, but I get your point.

It is a good point the one you are making and it always leads to polarized arguments. On one hand there is the promise of the GC on the other we don’t exercise memory management that much with the JVM leading perhaps to a lesser ability to do just that.
