Show PostWhat is lymphatic filariasis (LF)? LF is a neglected tropical disease. Usually acquired in childhood, infection occurs when filarial parasites are transmitted to humans through mosquitoes causing hidden damage to the lymphatic system. https://ow.ly/EWa350ZcF8G #LF #IDSky #Mosquitoes
Show PostMy main takeaway from this is that there are inefficiencies in US centers with dosing aminoglycosides, even in areas of the hospital where its been routine. We can debate the relative adverse effect profiles and the importance of timing of antibiotics in sepsis (agree about surviving sepsis madness)
Show PostBut what's clear is some sort of inefficiency in the process between these drugs and that may lead to increased workload even if everything else is the same (e.g., mortality, CDiff, etc). I figured you all have improved efficiencies since its a more common regimen
Show PostI’ve never done it (haven’t managed that many cases 🫣)… but I would because u did 😏
