At the beginning of Election Day, I run the initial scanner report, also called the zero tape, because every device should have no information on it. If the scanner does not read zero, I call the Judge Hotline and the machine will be replaced. The last report is after every voter is gone.
Show PostI work elections as an Election Judge/PPT. The PPT stands for polling place technician. I set up and troubleshoot the ePoll tablets, the touchscreens, and the scanner. We use Dominion machines. I do not claim any expertise in the process except for my own experience, and that of local judges.
