Unfortunately there are people who care about trans people having rights who are not trans people themselves and I’m sure that the number will suddenly grow exponentially post election when candidates have lost and you’re looking for someone to blame that isn’t the candidates themselves

Historically they never follow through on "once we win." If they see any new-found seats as precarious, they'll double down on this to prove they can keep them. They already did the same thing trying to out-flank the fash on the right with immigration.

On top of that, the Democrats have been in a civil war ever since Obama got elected. They have more interest in neutralizing Mamdani and "the squad" then they do in combating the fash. The blue-dog Clinton faction will see this as a power play.
