I am so sad to share that I said goodbye this weekend to the inimitable, goofy, brave, entirely beloved Brian Chidi Holmes, who I adopted on St. Patrick’s Day 2018.

Mignon, I loved this episode. “Here comes John” announces him, while “Here he comes” assumes we already know him. A tiny rule with a real lesson for anyone writing an announcement: introduce the new thing before you refer back to it.
