@drsusanna.bsky.socialHow does an embryo build itself? Join experimentalists and theorists as they discuss the principles of biological forms, from molecular mechanisms to whole organisms #EESDevelopment
Show Post40 years ago today, the BDSC made its 1st shipment. To celebrate, Trudy Kaufman, who packed the 1st shipment, boxed up the same kinds of flies for John Roote at Cambridge, who placed the 1st order. Watch for pics of the arrival next week. We’ve shipped 4,882,378 vials total. That’s a lot of flies!
Show PostAn aptly titled paper shows, for the first time, the significance of heterogeneities of gene expression in the construction of complex systems : fate decisions are group decisions. Previously @biorxivpreprint cell.com/cell/fulltex... #MustRead #Gastruloids @Jshendure lab
Show Post1/ Our paper, “Enhancer binding kinetics explain transcription factor hub formation,” is now published! Here we set out to understand why transcription factors form bright clusters or “hubs” in the nucleus, and whether those hubs actually control gene activity. tinyurl.com/38uf8348
Show PostIncredibly excited to share my new preprint! 🪰🧬 Ever wondered how germ cells can specify their fate without having a dedicated transcriptional program? We found that germ cells keep the uncommitted chromatin state of the early embryo www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
