You can't teach someone how to create a feeling. It's why bands never sound the same after someone critical to that vibe leaves. See: Red Hot Chili Peppers, K0rn, etc etc etc Do I think it's lame that they fired him so abruptly with no real explanation? Yeah, I don't love that. /7
Show PostAnd no matter how hard Josh Freese was gonna try, he just isn't the right drummer for the band. Because his immense skills don't lend themselves to this particular sound! It's SO HARD to lose a great drummer that creates the perfect vibe in your band, at any level of scale. /6
Show PostIt is also pretty well known that Dave is super picky about the way the drums sound in the band—he re-recorded the entirety of the drums on their original record because he decided it wasn't meeting his vision! Losing Taylor was like falling out of orbit around the sun. /5
