I am tired of people using their trust issue to explain why they embrace conspiratorial thinking. The cause/effect, imo, works the other way: People *want* to believe in conspiracies, and so they say "I have no trust, I'm just asking questions" to rationalize it.

Is it within the realm of possibility that an administration filled with conspiracy theorists and led by a president that refused to acknowledge he lost in 2020 would do such a thing... sure. But let's wait until more info is out before running with the conspiracy theories.
