Tbf, I can't beat the Tanzanian Rep's own words, which incuded "hollow victory" and then: "The irony of the situation may permit us to celebrate here a triumph achieved on the ashes of principles and policies which would more effectively enable us to reach our goal of international peace..."
Show PostHahaha same!! Altho it does lead to some funny professional moments. Eg, in my LJIL article, I personally broke the story that the OST's 1st publication was in a leak to the NYT & WaPo by the White House, 4 days before the UN got a copy. There's a recording of LBJ planning to leak it, fully online.
