Last night, Michael Stipe sang R.E.M.’s “E-Bow The Letter” and Big Red Machine’s “No Time For Love Like Now” with the National’s Matt Berninger and Aaron and Bryce Dessner. It was part of a fest celebrating the Dessners’ 50th birthday in the Basque region. Stipe hadn’t performed “E-Bow” in 17 years.
