it should be like when someone stiffs a contractor -- tear down the electrical poles, shut down the streets around the house, no more garbage pickup, cops and fire dont respond there

On deep level these people are just rejecting society itself. They do not want to participate. They do not care how society has benefitted and continues to benefit them. They don't care what happens to anyway else.
