To anyone who feels like the world is and always will be a shitty place: For almost all of human history, most children died before their fifth birthday. That's backed by evidence from some of the oldest population records and skeletal recordings. This was our reality, up until around the 1800s.

It's always kind of funny talking to someone about my disability in depth because they always go from "but I'm sure there's this obvious thing you've never tried" to "wow, that's rough," to "how are you still alive?" to "why the fuck would people make this even worse for you?!"
