reminder: the correct unit for municipal budget discussions is not dollars. it is "Cost Of Policing (COP)" days total amount spent on police per year/365 = 1 CoP day. Going by the 2026 budget, 1 CoP day is ~5.8 million. That's low, bc they have other kinds of funding; let's call it an even 6m/day
