May 6 Scripture "Circumcised according to the Mosaic practice" would become the most divisive issue in the early church (Acts 15:1-6). The truth was that it did not matter. But people ignored both Christ's saving work and the movement of the Spirit among them. Legalism & ritualism kill the Spirit.

Show PostApril 8 Scripture "Were not our hearts burning within us," (Lk 24:32) is a great explanation how the Jesus movement got viral. It is also what led Peter, who once denied Jesus, to say, "I have silver nor gold but in the name of Jesus rise and walk (Acts 3:6). May our hearts burn within us!
Show PostApril 7 Scripture When Peter preached, people asked, "What are we to do?" He said, "Repent and be baptized" (Acts 2:37-38). Repentance can mean many things. It also means what Mary Magdalene did in the gospel - stop gazing into the dark tomb and turn around to look at Jesus (Jn 20 14). Love heals.
Show PostApril 6 Scripture The consistent message from the angels at the tomb and from the resurrected Jesus is, "Do not be afraid!" (Mt 28:10). Now that Christ is risen, every fear has been overcome. It is not that life is all straightened out, but that we can face it with the enduring presence of Christ.
