Dumb, dumb, dumb. First of all, you don't even start the work without a contract. In that contract is a clause that states that if the homeowner fails to pay, the contractor puts a lien against the homeowner's property. Tearing down the fence means you lose any claim to get paid.

Agree. I learned to program with Pascal nearly 50 years ago! That introduction has helped guide my work regardless of the language I've used since.
