One of the fascinating things about this is how Laughton was stuck in 1939 but like he had this little helicopter circling around the century grabbing this and grabbing that from CALIGARI and M and MILDRED PIERCE and ORPHEUS and whatever else caught his aesthetic eye. #HorrorWatch #NightOfTheHunter
