In all honesty it was an odd exercise: asking Claude to write a small not-for-prod package for me, with pedagogy as the primary focus of the code, and then trying to learn a new skill by looking at what it did. It felt nice to use an LLM in a way that improved my skills instead of undermining them

It's always bothered me that I make so many data visualisations in #rstats, but the graphics devices that make that happen have remained a mystery to me. So I set out to teach myself how to write one of these things. Not at all convinced this was the best use of my time, tbh. Oh well.

i asked claude to spell check my prose and am amused that it quite primly informed me that it was leaving my profanity as-is, considering it a style choice in fairness it was but i'm almost hurt. hon this one is terribly tame. in australia six fucks for a blog post is considered the queens english
