In 2008, skeptics claimed more than 20% variable renewables on a large grid was not possible. In 2017, they backtracked to 80%. And then to 90%. Then 95%. Once it became obvious that 100% renewables is possible, now they say, "not everywhere is like California" and "what about nighttime?"

Good morning with good news: US renewable generation skyrocketed 377% to 122 TWh in March 2026 from 25.6 TWh in 3/2001, a nearly 5X increase in 25 years! RE share of US electricity surged to 35% in March 2026 from 8.5% in 3/2001. RE capacity rose to 468 GW in 2025 from 215 GW in 2016. #energysky
