Absolutely. I gave to two candidates for the 2020 election and it’s been a nightmare. Constant emails and texts popping up from candidates I’ve never heard of. All w/dire messaging It made me stop donating for fear of making it worse. How can they not see that this is what they’ve wrought?

I stopped all my donations after the last election and it’s still a damn nightmare—I imagine my email address in some endless hell of circulating lists, doomed to be spammed by candidates in races I’ve barely heard of in states I will never visit.

Do they even understand how much they’re pissing people off by doing this. Whatever research that convinces them that spamming everyone is all upside is bullshit. It is like they’d rather have all my contact info to sell to other campaigns forever than receive my donation. It sucks.
