What's wrong with Gen X is, I argue, what has always been wrong with people in middle age, when a sense of our own limitations hit like a truck just as the most common stressors that produce the "midlife crisis" arrive. It breeds resentment and resentment is the lifeblood of reactionary politics.

One of the best things I ever did was move this neglected cat tree into my little box room studio. It’s almost always got a cat or two on it now.
