Michael, & @stevenearlsalmony.bsky.social El Niño events trend cooler and are supposedly neutral as to your rainfall. An added bonus is a reduced number of hurricanes during El Niño events. That said, they do boost temperatures globally. That bump in temperatures will affect us all - ongoingly.

Beyond graphs of averages, what extremes are ahead in the tropical heat waves in 2027? Metabolic limits are real. The top left graphs show the Super El Niño years of 1997-98, 2015-16, and where we are in 2026. Each bumps up the tropical averages significantly to temps setting a new level for years.
