I'm watching the 2006 film "300" for research, because "conservative intellectuals" like Jonah Goldberg fetishized it as the cure for what aailed the American adventures in Iraq. And, holy shit, it's the gayest thing since Judy Garland.
Show PostLate to this Bloomberg piece on Marc Andreessen. This is one of the key things. Andreessen is *angry* about how he has been treated, when any objective observer might note he has benefited enormously from the institutions he now purports to detest. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Show PostWorking in the public sector this is exactly how I think things are going. Someone writes a bullet list of stuff. They ask AI to turn it into a lengthy report for a committee. The committee members ask AI to turn the report into an easier to read bullet list. Chinese whispers happens in between.
Show PostThat is an amazing paragraph. I love the bit where it says *he used AI* to summarise the slop (thereby creating, what, slopception?) and got no new ideas (having not used his own brain) and was terribly angry about that. The conclusion is about right. But… good grief.
Show PostFor three + years, teachers, writers, artists, humanities professors and so many others have been arguing exactly this--that this technology only produces an endless ouroboros of bland, sad, grey slop. But we were told that we were/are luddites, reactionary, old-fashioned, angry, etc etc.
