Several people have rightfully called out this claim of a “core team of 75” on a game with over a thousand people credited. It doesn’t just undervalue contractors. It normalizes the AI mentality that their labor isn’t real creative work, and it can be outsourced to just about anybody or any*thing*.

One of the problems with "indies will save games/animation/<insert medium here>" is no one has any fucking money Most people who would want to fund an interesting project do not have the resources to sustain the money faucet needed for any long term projects
