The driver fled the scene and then was shown smiling in his mug shot. Again, this isn't some innocent mistake that could have happened to anyone. It's as deliberate as running into a school and shooting people. It's also about as good example of motornormative framing as one can find in journalism.

There's a story to be written about what the proper punishment is for an elderly offender with health issues, but to frame this as an oopsie is journalistic malpractice. He wasn't "caught on video colliding with a group of cyclists." He turned his car into a weapon and rammed into human beings.
