First for Britain? This Yellow-throated Warbler at Liverpool Docks on 13 August may become the first UK record of this North American songbird. Feeding beside a ship from New Orleans, the bird seems to be the resident Louisiana-breeding albilora form. Will the BOURC accept it?

Orkneys first Blue cheeked Bee eater, first found by Paul and Jakey around Clestrain whilst out on the quadbike. A nervous wait, but relieved to find it again around around Hundland where still present this evening #BirdingOrkney #RareBirdsUK

A short video of the TENGMALM'S OWL at Ollaberry, Shetland last week. Thanks again to the homeowners Ewen and Kit for their hospitality. The 7th record for Shetland (assuming it to be the same individual that was in the West Mainland earlier this year). #BirdingScotland #UKbirding #RareBirdsUK

Nobody was expecting this today. A short video of the Hooded Merganser on Pilning Wetland this afternoon. Hopefully it will be there tomorrow in better weather and light.
