I also don't get why people act like redeeming is an act that other people decide for you whether your redeemable or not. Redemption is actions that the character takes for themselves, as long as they're fighting for the right cause now, they are "redeemed" does that mean everyone forgives them no.

But forgiveness is a completely separate concept all together and is not necessary for redemption which is about doing the right thing solely for the purpose of because it's the right thing to do.
