People hoping this will make good noise for Gibney’s doc are avoiding the issue. There needs to be new, viable platforms and forums for culture and politics within the bounds of free speech. It’s entirely doable. Big platforms have lost users and been replaced. Cede these spaces to their owners.

Show PostIt’s an unpalatable truth, but Meta, TikTok, and hopefully it goes without saying, X, aren’t sustainable to rely on for political amplification, cultural promotion/marketing or community organizing. It’s long past time for new platforms/means and to move on.

If Meta suspended the account at the request of or under pressure from the admin, that would be “jawboning” — and a 1A violation. This was exactly what the MAGA states argued wrt the Hunter Biden story and COVID minsinfo. The purpose of the investigation would be to find out if that happened
