#PretendPanel Oct 17: I mean, the first goal is just to have them feeling they've read a good story and enjoyed the journey. I hope they've connected to the characters, found them entertaining, laughed, agonized, felt their heart rates accelerate at all the right points. If I get that, I succeeded.

I want readers to better appreciate that money can be transformative and at the same time, the rat race is optional; that technology can have incredible positive potential, but the financial elite often control who benefits; and that troubled relationships can be worthwhile. #writing #pretendpanel

Two for Slashing is a slasher book about hockey players so I mean... it's meant to be a fun popcorn romp more than anything. But I guess it's about the power of friendship. And hard work and dedication. And maybe actually being a good person? #pretendpanel

On the surface the new WIP is about 2 senior actresses who take on the role of detectives for real. But it's also about recovery from pleasing everyone around you, understanding that senior women are deserving of the lead role in their lives, and invisibility isn't inevitable. #pretendpanel

My stories are pretty much always about empathy, overcoming differences, and finding new connections, and this book is no different. I hope someone gains a little more empathy (you can never have too much!) and think about finding connections with someone different from themself. #pretendpanel
